The Do’s and Don’ts of writing an ARTICLE
Being a writer is a difficult job especially when “To write with perfection” is what we strive for. It’s a practice a discipline to be followed religiously. We support and promote writers on our platform and thus, we are mentioning the common mistakes which the writers make. These will help you to write quality content and improve your skills.
1) Minimize Grammatical Errors
Using correct grammar is the first step towards good writing. The use of right form of tense, the right pronoun, correct adjective etc. is extremely important. For example while referring to a boy the pronoun he/him is used whereas for a girl she/her is used. Similarly “They” is used while talking about a group of people. Also, make sure that you start each sentence with a capital letter.
2) Title & Content should be relatable
The title should be relatable to the content written. It’s extremely important for a reader to find meaning in the article you write. Thus, if a reader clicks your article because of the title you have written he/she should find the content related. For example, if your title says “Images of a celebrity from some recent photo-shoot” then, the article must contain images from a photo-shoot. Do not download random Google images and present them as photo-shoot. Similarly, if you talk about some tweet then make sure that either the actual tweet or the image of that tweet is present in the content of your article.
3) Avoid Vulgar Content/Images
Don’t use vulgar words or images in the content. Also, if you are talking about the images of a model in the title of your article don’t add pictures of a porn star in the content. Don’t use vulgar words or images.
4) Avoid article spinning
By all means avoid article spinning, do not use the content written on some other platform in our platform. Do not copy or paste content from Wikipedia or other online sources. Also, do not do literal translations of the articles from Hindi to English or other languages as in that case, the meaning is lost and your article is prone to grammatical errors. Try reading and writing in your own words.
5) Format
‘The battle is half won’ when you present the content written correctly. Whenever you write any article make sure that your article is in the same format throughout. The font size, calligraphy style etc. should be the same for the entire article. It shouldn’t vary from para to para. Also, make sure the article is written in the same form of tense (Past, Present, Future) throughout. Your article shouldn’t start with past tense, continue in present and end in future.
6) Plagiarism:
Avoid plagiarism by all means, writers are supposed to write not copy. The more you write the better you will become. By copying content none of us will get anywhere. Also, our platform will reject any content found plagiarized.
Follow these guidelines and be the writer you have always wanted to become. These tips will help you to become better and excel as a writer.
